Hugh Hefner, the media and cultural icon who died Wednesday at age 91, left behind a sizable estate with an estimated value of more than $40 million, not including the $100 million sale of his home — the Playboy Mansion — last August.

Mr. Hefner, the founder of Playboy magazine, left this fortune to his four children, the University of Southern California film school, and charities, according to various news reports published after his death. The estate had supposedly been worth upwards of $200 million at the height of his empire in the 1970s (or, more than $1 billion in today’s dollars).

Is Britney Spears fighting with her father over having another baby? A tabloid claims Spears and boyfriend Sam Asghari have “baby fever,” but conservator Jamie Spears is objecting to his famous daughter having a third child. Gossip Cop looked into the story.

Star writes in its current edition, “Britney Spears is not a girl, not yet a woman free of her father’s conservatorship. But there’s one thing Jamie can’t control: Whether or not she decides to have a baby with her ‘Slumber Party’ costar, Sam Asghari.” A so-called “source” alleges to the tabloid, “Jamie isn’t thrilled about the idea. He actually suggested that she get her tubes tied years ago! But he doesn’t really get a vote.”

An affluent Upper West Side couple was busted for robbing their senile neighbor and longtime friend — even changing her will to benefit their kids — after the woman developed dementia and turned to them for help, officials charge.

Within two weeks of Morton Schuster, 86, gaining power of attorney over his fading 86-year-old neighbor, Regina Coxe, he and his wife, Julie Schuster, 60, began draining her accounts, prosecutors allege.


Hawaiian heiress, 91, marries longtime partner amid court battle

HONOLULU – A 91-year-old Native Hawaiian multimillionaire heiress has married her longtime partner.

Retired Hawaii Supreme Court Justice Steven Levinson says he presided over the wedding of Abigail Kawananakoa and Veronica Gail Worth during a ceremony Sunday at his Honolulu home.

A marriage announcement said the two have been partners for 21 years, reports CBS Honolulu affiliate KGMB-TV.


Judge requests investigation of Lansing lawyer, removes her from cases (MI)

LANSING — An Ingham County probate judge has asked for an investigation into a local lawyer and removed her from several cases in which she served as conservator or guardian.

The request sent to the Attorney Grievance Commission by Ingham County Probate Judge Richard Garcia stemmed in part from what Garcia called apparent conflicts of interest in lawyer Catherine Jacobs’ role as guardian for several people who were incapacitated.
