Jerry Lewis Excludes His Six Sons from His Will

Jerry Lewis’ six sons were purposely excluded from the late comic’s will. The legendary comedian, who died in August at 91, explicitly asked that they receive no benefits from his estate.

In documents obtained by the Blast and People, the Emmy-winning star’s last will and testament declares the exclusion of his children with ex-wife Patti Palmer, whom he was married to from 1944 to 1980.

The Global Financial Crisis caused the abrupt drop in value of a Taupo property at the centre of an estate wrangle involving a lawyer, accountant and regular NBR rich lister, a court has heard.

Rob Latton, lawyer for accountant Philip Monk and the New Zealand Guardian Trust, said the GFC, which crippled businesses and property owners around the world from 2008, saw the property of Christian and Molly Burgess drop in value by $1.7 million over a seven-month period.

 

Ex-lawyer behind $46 million scheme fights restitution (RI)

PROVIDENCE, R.I. — A former lawyer who masterminded a $46 million investment scheme exploiting terminally ill people is fighting the government’s attempt to recover some of the money he’s been ordered to pay back.

Joseph Caramadre, who’s serving time in a federal prison in Massachusetts, appeared in U.S. District Court in Providence via videoconference on Thursday. He was ordered in 2014 to pay $46 million restitution to companies that lost money in the scheme.
