Griffith heirs join fight to reopen popular hiking trail to Hollywood sign (CA)

The heirs of Griffith J. Griffith, the silver-mining magnate who donated the plot of open space that became Griffith Park, joined other groups Monday in a fight to reopen a popular Beachwood Drive trail entrance that leads up to the Hollywood sign.

A private family trust that represents the estate of Griffith J. Griffith was among the parties that filed a motion Monday in Los Angeles County Superior Court to “intervene” in a lawsuit that led to last month’s closure of the trailhead into Griffith Park.

EAST PROVIDENCE, R.I. — The NBC 10 I-Team has learned Rhode Island State Police have an open, active investigation into the handling of an East Providence business man’s approximate $5 million estate – a case that includes allegations of theft, deception and nepotism.

East Providence Probate Court records obtained by the NBC 10 I-Team show a judge’s court order to bring the probate case of Armando “Mandy” Damiani to the Rhode Island State Police for investigation.
