Fake Will Scheme Puts Camden Real Estate Agent in Hot Water (AR)

A Camden real estate agent stands accused of pushing her teenage daughter into the arms of a survivor of the Deepwater Horizon explosion, and then, after he died in a car accident, faking his will to leave his nearly $2 million estate to the daughter.

The fraudulent will for Matthew Seth Jacobs, who was 34 when he died two years ago, left nearly all of his assets to his purported fiancée, Jordan Alexandra “Alex” Peterson, daughter of Donna Herring. The will left Jacobs’ son and only child, Jordan Jacobs, just $50,000.


Legal steps taken to initiate appeal in Owsley probate case (IN)

Attorneys for Logan A. Owsley have filed a notice of appeal with the Indiana Court of Appeals over a ruling in a Marion County probate case involving Owsley’s late father, Cary.

The filing, submitted Friday, is a notice to the appeals court that attorneys representing Logan Owsley plan to file an appeals brief with the court contesting the Nov. 1 dismissal of Cary Owsley’s probate case in Marion County Superior Court.

New Orleans Saints and Pelicans owner Tom Benson on Friday finalized an agreement settling a lawsuit he filed almost two years ago against the officials overseeing a group of trust funds benefiting his estranged relatives.

Benson’s litigation against trustees Robert Rosenthal and Mary Rowe was the last pending legal case related to a bitter family feud that erupted into public view in January 2015.
