SAN ANTONIO (AP) — A South Texas lawyer arrested on another drunken driving count has been jailed pending trial on charges she embezzled from her grandmother.
Michelle Lorenz Valicek faces trial Sept. 10 on 16 felony counts of misapplication of fiduciary property and theft.
Valicek allegedly spent more than $500,000 of an inheritance meant for her grandmother, Margaret Lorenz. The 97-year-old woman died last year.
Records show Valicek in 2011 was arrested on a DWI count. Defense attorney Jon Ritenour said Tuesday that the charge is pending.
Prosecutors say Valicek’s blood alcohol level was more than triple the legal limit for driving when she was arrested again last week. Bond was set at $100,000.
Ritenour says a judge Monday afternoon revoked bond, asking all parties to offer plans to protect Valicek and the community.
