Britney Spears’ conservatorship an always interesting topic

A judge has ordered that Britney Spears’ mother, Lynne, must face deposition next week in a libel and defamation lawsuit filed against the Spears family by the pop star’s former manager, Sam Lufti.

Britney Spears mom, Lynne Spears, has been ordered by a judge to formally be deposed in the libel and defamation lawsuit Sam Lutfi has filed against the Spears family.

Britney’s former manager, is suing the pop singer, father Jamie, and Lynne for defamation, libel, and slander. Lynne wrote a book,Through The Storm, that discussed Lutfi’s role in Britney’s life leading up to her very public meltdown, which resulted in Jamie gaining conservatorship of his daughter in 2008.

In court docs, exclusively obtained, Los Angeles Judge Zaven Sinanian ordered Lynne Spears to be deposed on December 13, 2011.

As previously reported, Lutfi’s efforts to have Britney deposed have been shot down by the judge because she is under conservatorship.

While the article reminds that Lufti efforts to depose Spears have been impeded by her being under a conservatorship, it also discusses a potential engagement for Spears.  Although not mentioned, this is another issue impacted by the conservatorship.  Our previous column Britney Spears’ conservatorship blocks marriage option and more discusses this status.

It was early 2008 when Spears’ emotional problems peaked.  We’ll see if 2012 brings a close to this chapter of her life and if so, what new turns (like being unable to avoid Lufti’s deposition or a new marriage) might arise.  In light of the conservatorship, shall we go so far as to say “Lufti and marriage” – you can’t have one without the other!
