Last Will and Embezzlement, set for release fall 2011, is a documentary examining the exploitation and victimization of the elderly. The project’s web site provides this description:
Last Will and Embezzlement is a documentary which examines the exploitation and victimization of the elderly, inspired by the recent true-life events in the family of Starjack partner, Pamela S. K. Glasner. It is currently in production.Though we are naturally excited, it is also rather humbling because of the subject matter — particularly after we began researching the topic and realized just how pervasive the issue is.
Our hope is that Last Will and Embezzlement will shine a light on this global problem, help those who have potentially-vulnerable adults in their lives to be on the look-out for signs of victimization, and maybe even make some waves in the communities where the rights of these citizens are not being looked after and protected by the public servants and law enforcement officials who are charged with that responsibility.
