Congratulations to Laurie Roberts of The Arizona Republic for being named a winner in the annual Scripps Howard Awards which honor the year’s best work in the communications industry and journalism education. Roberts was named winner of the Commentary category in the competition sponsored by the Scripps Howard Foundation.
Laurie Roberts of The Arizona Republic, Phoenix, receives $10,000 and a trophy for prompting the Arizona Legislature to consider probate court reforms and calling into question the federal government’s longstanding inaction on immigration policy.
Winners will be honored at a May 3 dinner hosted by the Scripps Howard Foundation and its corporate founder, The E.W. Scripps Company, at the Duke Energy Convention Center in Cincinnati.
