Hope you had a chance to check out our new column Randy Quaid ‘crazy’ estate theft claims parallel legal abuse, probate corruption seen nationwide posted at both Examiner.com and EstateofDenial.com.
While some of the Quaids’ claims may seem outrageous, many readers of this site who have Involuntary Redistribution of Assets (IRA) experience likely recognize the quiet ease with which many outrageous probate-related actions occur.
It is our firm belief here at EstateofDenial.com that the issue of estate abuse/probate corruption will continue to gain more visibility for a variety of reasons. We routinely compare the issue as being on a track akin to the public’s awareness of child abuse or domestic violence 25 or 30 years ago.
In thinking about the Quaids’ particular misconduct allegations on the part of lawyers or financial people, high profile companies like Goldman Sachs or Wells Fargo are sometimes associated with the questionable cases on which we report.
Writing this column also brought to mind hearing back in the early 90s a detailed account from an individual familiar with what happened between Willie Nelson and Price Waterhouse. Back then, it seemed almost unfathomable that direction from such a venerable company – be it sleazy or sloppy – could lead to the tax problems laid at Willie’s feet. And think, too, of the “competent professionals” who undoubtedly sanctioned or had some degree of complicity with this situation. Now, after Enron, WorldCom, Tyco, Global Crossing, Bernie Madoff, AIG, Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, etc., need we say more?
Seems one Examiner.com reader also sees the potential for more to this story. He commented as follows:
I must admit from the headline I figured this was another “Randy Quaid is crazy “HIT PIECE. However, I’m pleasantly surprised. I want to remind people that an actor on stage or in movies DOES NOT mean that is him in real life. His real life statements about what happened, are his true feelings. Just in case some people have a hard time telling the difference between him playing a character in a movie and being true to himself in real life. Most of the media is in overdrive trying to discredit him. I am assuming people are intelligent enough to see that. I mean it was really obvious. So if the media is in overdrive trying to discredit the Quaids, you can bet, there might be something to the Quaids claims. He’s just got the mafia on his tail. Now he’s trying to shake them. At least he had the guts to go public. Good for the Quaids, going public probably saved their lives. What else do you do when the mafia is on your tail? You go public. Good Luck Quaid family. You have a lot of support, even behind the scenes. We’re praying for you both.
