BRUCEVILLE-EDDY – A civil lawsuit has been filed by the man whose son is charged with murdering his elderly father in Bruceville-Eddy.
Aaron Firquin, 45, was arrested in July for the stabbing death of his grandfather, 88-year-old E.B. Firquin.
E.B.’s son and the suspect’s father, Sam Firquin, filed suit Thursday in the 170th District Court.
It accuses Aaron of taking advantage of his grandfather’s declining mental faculties, and convincing him to sign over the deed to the home they shared.
“We know that there were times that Mr. Firquin previously had been taken around to the banks and money was drawn out of his account for no apparent reason,” said Joe Meadows, Sam’s attorney. “That this wasn’t something he would ordinarily have done.”
The suit seeks recovery of the property, worth around $50,000, along with court costs and damages.
Aaron Furquin remains in the McLennan County Jail on a $5 million bond.
