2010 is almost here. May this next year bring both peace and prosperity.
Our California readers may find newly posted information about a program called ACE (Advocates for Conserved Elders) of interest. The widespread problems associated with California conservatorships – often at the hands of conservators or courts – make ACE an interesting model. We’d be interested to hear any thoughts or experiences with any programs of this type.
A new op-ed about “honest services” prosecutions has also been posted. Our interest in this charge stems from its use in public corruption prosecutions. Opposition to it includes a unique assortment of policy groups. Something to think about.
And finally, Joe Jackson has filed papers seeking release of Michael Jackson’s medical records from UCLA Medical Center. Guess in case that allowance thing doesn’t work out, he’s attempting groundwork for a wrongful death suit. The man needs money. Last reports indicated a Jan. 4 hearing on outstanding estate issues. We’ll keep you posted.
See you in the New Year!
