An elderly woman’s lawsuit against ex-judge Larry Seidlin has expanded to include three attorneys and an accountant.
Barbara Kasler, 83, whose lawyer said is worth $5 million, is suing Seidlin, who gained national notoriety for his emotional handling of the Anna Nicole Smith death case.
Kasler’s new attorney, William Scherer, filed an amended suit this week accusing Seidlin of siphoning money from Kasler and attempting to hijack her estate upon her death.
According to the suit, originally filed in Broward Circuit Court in June, Seidlin; his wife Belinda; her parents, Barbara and Oren Ray; along with Dorothy Colletto, the ex-girlfriend of Kasler’s deceased son, fleeced Kasler out of hundreds of thousands of dollars in checks, credit card purchases and the sale of property she owned.
Seidlin feigned friendship with Kasler, who lived in the same Fort Lauderdale condo as the judge and his family, the suit said, and the exploitation occurred while the now-retired Seidlin was still on the bench.
“It is absolutely horrible, horrible conduct by a sitting circuit judge,” Scherer said.
Also named in the new suit is accountant Stephen Fuller, and attorneys Robert Judd, Bruce Lehr and Raymond Posgay. All but Lehr, whose practice is in Miami, are from Fort Lauderdale.
The suit said the accountant and attorneys assisted Seidlin in his attempts to buy Kasler’s property at a discount and change her will to benefit himself and his family.
Judd declined comment; Fuller and Posgay could not be reached. “Totally frivolous and without merit,” was how Lehr characterized the suit.

Larry Seidlin has used the system, misrepresented his position, stole taxpayer dollars and committed just about every other crime there is to commit. The rest of these folks either enabled him, looked the other way, or outright tried to get their hands on some of her money themselves. You can see what’s happening in Broward County by looking at any news story. These despicable people can no longer ride roughshod on decent folks…we’ve had enough! Add to this list three more attorneys … Robert P. Bissonnette, Scott Weiss, from Wilton Manors, and Jerome Siegel from Ft. Lauderdale. They tried to “fix” a guardianship with their courtroom cronies…each one benefiting financially (by getting control of all of her finances) if they had gotten away with it. But they didn’t. And they will pay before all is said and done because they’re not much better than Seidlin. To Russell Adler, who is representing The Seidlins, but has been implicated in the Rothstein Rosenfeldt ADLER fiasco…hope they get the cuffs on you before much longer. What is happening just confirms my strong belief in that Karma.

Well put, Christy. Lou Ann, thank you for bringing to light this outrageous legal system crime called “guardianship”. Until I experienced this first hand, I would never have believed someone could come in and outright “rob” an elderly person, with the full authority of the court system. The guy Christy is talking about - Robert Bissonnette - was a dismissed and disgruntled attorney who was sooo mad at the thought he wasn’t going to get Mrs. Kasler’s $200k+ probate, that he filed for an Emergency Temporary Guardianship and tried to get himself named Guardian, which would have put all of her money and healthcare decisions in HIS hands. The face page in the docket, stated that. And his desk partner, Scott Weiss, was listed as the agent. Add Jerome Seigel whom the court assigned to her, and who lied under oath during the guardianship proceedings…and you had a triumverate of scumbags out to rob this kind elderly victim. She was terrorized by Seidlin first, then in come these greedy jerks. Nothing felt better than to tell her this takeover attempt, initiated by these creeps, was over. Let’s keep the pressure on these issues of guardianship abuse and continue to out the despicable people who prey on the elderly with this kind of sham.

sherer do you really know what you have gotten your self into, i heard you won guardianship case for them just watch your back. remember they fired bissenette once he did not do their will. sherer you are way in over your head, get lyn evans off your team she is a snake and she is not telling you the truth, be smart make sure you draft up an aggrement with the old lady k do not allow lyn evans to do anything because if things does not go her way then your out.
Adler did you know that the two caregivers of the old lady panic on friday 20, november 2009. dont you find that odd, that was the same day they had the guardianship hearing, i was told by reputable source that some lady came in to cover them and boy did she sing as was said monica started immediately asking about her friend avril i heard she was pushy and commanding and that little sabrina had to run behind her like a DP. wail a minute was’nt monica her cleaning lady what is going on and is’nt sabrina going to nursing school so who should be running behind who
