Latest Howard Hughes estate-related litigation rejected

September 14th, 2008

Howard Hughes’ 1976 death and the controversy surrounding his estate has long provided fodder for everyone from legal observers to celebrity watchers to conspiracy theorists.  After several years of legal wrangling, assets of Hughes’ estate were distributed.

About two years ago - 30 years after the original probate trial - Melvin Dummar, the man who claimed Howard Hughes left him more than $150 million, filed a new series of suits against two individuals, one who is even now deceased, claiming acts of fraud with relation to the original probate trial.  Despite representation by a disbarred New Mexico estate attorney and a Texas estate attorney, Dummar’s case was recently rejected by the 10th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals in Denver.

We will refrain from providing analysis or any opinion on this case as the principal here at EstateofDenial.com is involved in litigation with one of the attorneys who pursued this case.  Meanwhile though, we have provided numerous articles in Another run at the Howard Hughes’ fortune chronicling the various filings and dismissals related to Dummar’s lawsuits.  As attorneys  in the Utah lawsuit called Dummar’s attempts “fanciful speculative claims,” - a theme also discussed on this site - it is important that EoD provides information on this case as it fits our scope and routine line of coverage.

Those who follow guardianship issues will also find of interest the EoD News Archive articles posted on Stuart L. Stein.  Upon suspension of his Florida license which was a result of his New Mexico disbarment, the North Country Gazette reported information from the Florida Supreme Court stating “Stein appears to be causing great public harm by repeated intentional dishonest misconduct.”

Melvin Dummar, author Gary Magnesen along with the two case attorneys appeared several weeks ago on Coast to Coast AM with George Noory.  Links to that program are posted on the EoD Multimedia page.  It provides an opportunity to hear first-hand about the case and from those involved.

While our opinions on this case will be kept private, we certainly would love to hear from you.  Please feel free to post thoughts and comments or else e-mail us at info@estateofdenial.com.

I still ask what the hell right does anyone have challengeing the estate, or the wishes of anyone? Why should the courts even allow anyone to challenge anyones wills or a trust set up by someone for the people they want to have what they worked so hard to give.

All anyone who is supposed to uphold the law, or see to it that people are protected do, is STEAL, and they are doing it under false pretence. They say that it is in the best interest of the person that they represent (the one that made the will or trust in the first place), but in fact it is in their own interest.

Wills and trusts are set up by an individual so that their wants, their wishes are carried out, after they pass. THIS IS WHAT THAT PERSON WANTED FOR THEIR FAMILY, WHILE THAT PERSON WAS ALIVE, and unless they change it while they are still alive, that is what they wanted after they pass away.

In other words, judges, attorneys, guardians, and family members should all take in concederation what the person’s will says, either before (in cases where the person becomes uncapeable of careing for self or estate), or after they pass away.

These people in this article, are comitting fraud, and theift. They do not care about the laws.
